Saigon Sprint: Web3 Connections, VNG Wonders, and a Dash to Korea!

 

Second Stop of our #BMBOnTour: Saigon, Vietnam!

We arrived in Saigon on Tuesday, August 27th, after a whirlwind trip from Bali through Jakarta. Unfortunately, our stay was shorter than planned, as I had to reschedule my flights due to an invitation to speak at the Tech and Talk Concert during Korea Blockchain Week. We left Saigon on Thursday, August 29th, but those two days were packed with memorable experiences!

Discovering Saigon

On the flight, the couple sitting next to us kindly shared a list of must-visit tourist spots in Saigon. We wish we had more time to explore, but even during our brief stay, we could feel the city’s vibrant energy. From the bustling motorbike-filled streets to the fragrant smell of street food, Saigon has a pulse that makes you feel alive.

One thing that really stood out was the incredible hospitality of the Vietnamese people, they made us feel welcome at every step.

Wednesday: Visiting VNG Corporation

Wednesday was a highlight! I was invited by Phuong Nguyen to visit the VNG Corporation, and WOW! These are the best offices I’ve ever seen! They have it all: a gym, restaurants, chill-out areas, and even a salty water swimming pool. It’s an inspiring space for innovation and creativity.

For those who don’t know, VNG Corporation is one of Vietnam’s leading tech companies. They are one of the few product-oriented tech companies that have truly changed and improved the digital lives of Vietnamese people. VNG’s initial goal was to “make the internet change Vietnamese lives,” and it evolved into “building tech and growing people from Vietnam to the world,” reflecting their global ambitions. 🌍

Companies like Zalo are prime examples of VNG’s impact.

#BMBOnTour Web3 Gathering

Later that afternoon, #BMBOnTour hosted an informal Web3 gathering, bringing together members of the local community to share ideas and insights. It was amazing to connect with attendees from companies like Haya Finance, EMC Protocol, Aura Network, Brototype, and Coin98 Finance. We exchanged knowledge and built some valuable relationships in a relaxed setting. See you all in Singapore for, TOKEN2049
